MENTOR, INC - NATIONAL QUALITY MENTORING SYSTEM (NQMS)
This project, commissioned by Mentor Inc, helped to formulate a training for mentoring programs in the client's network. The quality system was used to ensure mentoring programs were following Mentor's extremely important guidelines and standards. The goal of the e-learning was to introduce the tool, describe it's purpose, explain it's importance and describe how use of the tool would important. The client was converting an existing training to an online, self-paced format so the participants could be reached at a wider scale.
The project began by working with the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to analyze the scope of the project, the audience and what would be required for the final deliverable. An existing PowerPoint presentation was available which served as a basis for the new training. A storyboard was created to show each slide, narration and any navigation elements. The narration was created using computer generated voices and the PowerPoint slides were converted into an e-learning with the use of Articulate Storyline.
I worked very closely with the SME to create the initial training and make edits through a range of feedback sessions. Once a final draft was approved the project was Published to SCORM and uploaded to the client's LMS - Talent.
The results were that we achieved our goal: we created a training for the client's mentoring network that would allow learners, near and far, to learn more about this system and how to advance moving forward. While it wasn't the biggest project this client was working on, it was extremely important work and showed how the smallest project, could make a big change. I am very happy with this project as I appreciated working closely with the SME, being able to analyze, design, develop and implement this training. Internal evaluation would be handled by the client at a later time once more data was gathered about the tool and training.
